11.13.2009The Week in AC/DC

The North American stretch of the Black Ice World Tour keeps rolling on, but it's soon coming to an end, with yesterday's Mexico City show and a few more dates over the next week. After that, the band heads down to South America for a week of dates to close out the year. 2010's right around the corner though, and fan club tickets are still on sale for the March 2010 Japan dates. They're only on sale until tomorrow though, so if you haven't picked up tickets yet, time's running out!

Last week, member wertman31 made it out to the show in Houston, where he not only got to see AC/DC rock out but also experienced many Acca Dacca fans' dream:

"About 1 hour after the show a white van pulled out and stopped beside me and my wife (we were the only 2 people waiting). A man got out of the front of the band and opened the back door. First Angus exited the van and walked over to me. You could tell he was totally exhausted. He walked over and said what could I sign for you. As Angus was signing 0 dollar and writing "Money Talks" on it, I could hear another voice coming out of the van. My wife said "Its Brian". As Brian stepped out my wife was telling him how I was such a huge AC/Dc fan."

Lucky stiff! wertman31 snapped a few pics of the show and the events afterwards:

Last week, the band also found themselves in Austin for a show at the Erwin Center. Michael Corcoran of Austin360.com described their appearance as "a tribute to the awesome power of good, hard, rock n' roll." Check out the whole review here.

On the historical front, this week also marked the 7th anniversary of the date AC/DC was voted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It took three years on the ballot, but since then, they've only continued to prove why they should've been members long before that.

That's it for another edition of "The Week in AC/DC." Keep those concert pics and reviews coming! 'Til next time!

08.21.2009The Week in AC/DC

This week, AC/DC visited two of the most soulful cities in America - Detroit and Chicago - as their Black Ice World Tour continues. There's no word on whether the boys paid a visit to see the beat-up 9-string guitar of Big Joe Williams, author of "Baby Please Don't Go," which currently resides at the Jazz Record Mart in the Windy City. We do know that fans and critics alike left the shows with their fists in the air, jaws on the floor, and perhaps, a slight ringing in the ears. Don't worry though - that will subside in a few days...

08.14.2009The Week in AC/DC

As AC/DC gets ready to play in Chicago tonight, thousands of fans in the Windy City are counting down the hours until they get blown away. We at ACDC.com are cranking "Let There Be Rock" and looking back once more on the week that was in the world of AC/DC.

07.31.2009The Week in AC/DC

Well, the Black Ice World Tour is officially back in action following the July 28 show at Gillette Stadium, and just like Phil Rudd's bass drum, it hasn't missed a beat. Don't take our word for it though - check out the raves from the Boston Globe ("AC/DC Still Brings The Power"), Boston Herald ("AC/DC Still Hell On Wheels"), and Rolling Stone (headline not catchy enough to deserve reproduction here).

07.27.2009Thirty Years Of 'Highway To Hell'

On July 27, 1979, AC/DC released Highway To Hell, a timeless rock n' roll classic that ultimately marked both a triumphant beginning and a tragic end for the young band from Down Under. Thirty years later, after going platinum seven times over in the USA alone, it remains an undeniable classic of the genre, and has served as a musical touchstone for countless acts in the years since.

07.24.2009The Week in AC/DC

The North American leg of the Black Ice World Tour got a bit longer this week, with the addition of concerts in Washington, D.C. (October 16) and Buffalo (October 18). 07.17.2009The Week in AC/DC

On the ACDC.com message boards, the party is still raging with members' reviews and incredible photos from practically every stop along the way.

07.02.2009The Week in AC/DC

To the hordes of AC/DC fans across the continent, thank you for coming out and providing the massive energy to fuel the "Rock 'N Roll Train" on its ride. We hope you had a hell of a time!
